I just finished reading this book and absolutely loved it! Actually, I read it in two days! It reads more like a Victorian novel, with the tension between the two characters than a romance novel. Your start with two very flawed individuals and you see them not only unraveling into each other, but also becoming whole themselves. Actually, I found myself thinking about the characters way after I finished reading. I am looking forward to reading the second novel in the series!

I don’t usually read romance but the description and the kindle sample were so well written that I had to have this book!

The descriptions, the dialogue, and the slow unfurling of Rasha’s destiny and the love between her and the Prince were a delight to read. I especially loved that Rasha was an intelligent and capable Romance heroine instead of the token damsel in distress.

Saladin has a real flare for descriptive writing and I am eagerly awaiting her next book in Warrior Princesses of Dilshad Series!

This was a very imaginative story with an entire cast of different countries, seas, mountains etc. An intriguing mix of old court culture and bold new thinking of a smart and brave women involving foreign policies, military strategies as well as love. The central theme of love of a man and a woman surviving all odds.

Anyone who likes palace intrigue, military operations, political stand-off, family dysfunction, arduous journeys, snappy dialogue along with a healthy dose of romance is going to love this novel. It has it all, and then some.

An absolutely wonderful book! I couldn’t put it down from the minute I picked it up. Amazing romance story filled with incredible characters. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!!

I loved the characters, they were so well thought out that you felt like you knew them by the end of the book. And for once the female protagonist is head and shoulders above the male in ability, and he is sensible enough to know it and wants to improve. Both are secure in their respective identities, older (not teens) and more thoughtful in terms of viewing love. Speaking of which, it was so nice to read love scenes where the male is a thoughtful lover! Their interactions and their misunderstandings where so well drawn, and so normal for everyone in love, it was really a great story. The cultural and social settings all ring historically true and the role of folktales and stories in any culture is very well expressed. Lastly, the story itself was poetic and elegant, and riveting enough for me to leave chores and family to fall by the wayside for hours as I immersed myself in another (but surprisingly familiar) world. I am looking forward to more in the series!

I don’t normally read romance novels but a friend recommended this book to me and I am glad that she did. I was immediately pulled in by the lead female character, who was strong yet vulnerable. I found this combination really compelling. In addition, the story took place in a fictional land in a past time and I found myself wanting to know more about this place and this time in history. I adored the love story between the two main characters. They were hot and steamy as well as loving and thoughtful. I suppose, to some degree, this is the kind of love story that we all dream about – the hunt, the chase, the missed opportunities, the passion….Read the book and enjoy.

Great story! The main female character is a heroine – brave, defeats the odds yet she is relatable. At first, I thought I wouldn’t be able to follow along with the difference places and imagery of faraway foreign lands but I was able to get lost in the story and the pace kept me engaged. This story was clearly well thought out and that made for a very enjoyable read. I highly recommend ‘Captivated’.
